WINNER WINNER, $4,000 BEEF DINNER: Tad Pospisil Wins 7th Annual Dave Garmann Memorial at Dodge City Raceway Park

Dodge City, Kansas 6/15/2024 (www.highplainslatemodelseries.com) - The High Plains Kansas DirtCar Late Model Series concluded its 2-day swing at Dodge City Raceway Park for the final night of the Dave Garmann Memorial.

In Nutrien Ag Solutions Qualifying, it was Dan Smith yet again laying down quick time with a 16.318 lap time. With qualifying done and heat races lined up, the action didn’t fall short of entertaining. Chris Bragg, Brandon Conkwright, Jason Rogers and Dan Smith all battled their ways to their respective heat race wins.

With 36 entries on Saturday night, two Last Chance Showdowns were scheduled to run, taking the top four finishers to the main show. In the end it was Joe Bellm and Greg Sharpe winning.

In the Classic Heating and Air Dash, Tad Pospisil quickly got to the front of the pack and never looked back. This would set the front rows of the A-Main, at which Pospisil would start from the pole. With the 8-lap dash in the books, the 24 car field was set for its 30-lap $4,000 to win race.

Chaos was the way you could describe the feature race, with carnage left and right, the name of the game was survive and thrive. Starting from the pole position, that’s not always easy either…

After a few incidents including a turn 2 wreck involving Mike Petersilie and Dakota Dellinger, the field was re-racked and ready to get back underway. Tad Pospisil was nothing less than phenomenal throughout the night. Pospisil started to catch lap traffic around lap 9, and from there the drive to survive was real.

With Josh Leonard following in the tire tracks, Pospisil had to be perfect with the lap cars, at which he had no problem. The laps would click away and so would the opportunities for any other drivers. When it was all said and done, Tad Pospisil came out on top.

The High Plains Kansas DirtCar Late Model Series will be back in action Friday, June 21st at SaltCity Racing at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas.
